- SEVEN LIES ABOUT GIRLS - TABULA RASTA C32 - $6
(limited
to 15 copies)
======================================================
SEVEN LIES ABOUT GIRLS have been compared to KLUSTER quite a few times and it's pretty clear why. These guys see synths, guitars, effects, drums, vocals, etc… all through the same unblinking alien eye, using anything they can get their hands on to craft luxurious improvised soundscapes that mirror their post-industrial stomping grounds. This release, with its hyper-minimal packaging, lets the sounds speak for themselves and despite their insistence on referencing Jamaican dub it still sounds like some stoned germans in the best possible way. This is seriously killer and super limited, so grip one while you can.
[Stark white cassette with stark white label sealed in a stark white LP sleeve with a level #P development card courtesy of the American Guidance Service Inc.].

(limited
to 20 copies)
======================================================
“… even though this record may communicate certain feelings, emotions, and ideas to some, I have faith that cop-types with their strictly linear minds and stick-to-the-rules mentality don’t have the ability to decipher the intuitive contents of this record. Of course, there may be a problem in that much of the public, most of whom comply with the whole idea of hiring the pigs in the first place, seem equally unable to intuitively feel and listen to music. Still here it is, “The Process of Weeding Out”.”

For their Teen Action release they string together a pair of bath-tub sessions, with stricken stoned melodies that bob and loop like a duck in a lake. Swamp Leather is a collective of Columbus
jam masters creating a psychedelic joyride of cosmic proportions with
nuanced waves of guitar, synth, electric tamboura and the unique drum
wizardry of Ryan jewell.
Adam Smith, perhaps best know from DEAD SEA and his production wizardry
with numerous C-bus rockers, uses his space to create a beautiful sonic
other-world, inhabited by lost tapes, open spaces, and the sepia toned
spectres of Ohio.

strange found recordings.

TAR024
- Al Qaeda / Cave Bears split C30
- $8
(limited
to 100 copies)
======================================================
With two of the most prolific and consistently
interesting bands in the American underground, this shit is almost too
awesome. Hard to believe it's all contained within the time of a Mr.
Belvedre episode. But both these bands have a habit of warping time
and space to transport the listener to places they never imagined. No
wonder Al Qaeda and Cave Bears both have constantly undulating memberships
that have included everyone from Mike Watt (AQ) to Grecian Urns (CB).

16
Bitch Pile Up " is downright…. incredible. It’s a quiet

and weirdness and grossness and distraction that by the time you realize
someone is screaming it’s waaaaay to late..." -Blastitude.com
Twink

crunch-burrowing. About 6 minutes in you realize there’s a free-crashing
drummer playing along...I guess this is what I wish the Dead C sounded

=======================================================
epic 4 disc monster jam, featuring Aaron Hibbs (Noumena, Sword Heaven)
on drums, Jacy on guitar, and Jenni on klangregie. 3 and a half hours
of mind altering, trance inducing freak out.
“...Seven
Lies About Girls has created a monster. This quadruple CD-R straps a
couple megatons of psychedelic dynamite to its stomach, lights itself
on fire, and runs straight into your stereo. The release is essentially
one truly massive track, clocking in at a preposterous 3 1/2 hours,
that redefines the term “jam band.” Comprised of guitar,
drums (helmed by Aaron Hibbs of Sword Heaven), and some electronic manipulation,
the group blazes a trail through the sonic sphere with alternately noisy,
forceful tribal blasts and more open, outer space meteor gunk. Through
it all, there is not one second that could come close to being described
as flimsy, weak, or just not awesome. From the get-go (the first disc
dives straight into pure psych groove delirium), a tone of “no
bullshit” is established so concretely that even when the pace
seems to drop below spine-distorting, the track is held confidently
together by its own gravity and inertia. The release comes in some of
the coolest packaging I can ever remember; the four CD-Rs are housed
in the four slit open corners of a glued-together, old, decorated LP
sleeve (mine came in a copy of Men at Work’s Business as Usual)..”
